Historic Half Marathon (13.1 Mile) Course
Run GPR half marathon consists of a fast flat start on a compact trail for the first 4 miles. Participants will then shift into miles 5 through 7 which covers the Pony Ride and Merry Go Round portion of the trails consisting of rolling hills with spectacular views of the foothills and nature all around. The final portion of the course passes by travel town, the zoo, and along the fastest portion of the course which is mostly flat compact trail.
5K (3.1 Mile ) Course
The 5K course is all flat and fast covering the perimeter of the golf course.
Water will be available in all 6 water stations along the route. Pocari Sweat (www.TryPocari.com) electrolytes will be available at every other water station. 5k Participants will have both water and Pocari Sweat at the 1.5 halfway portion of the route.
Portable bathrooms will be located near the halfway point in the Travel Town Museum area.
We will have a roving first aid team covering the main access points on the half marathon and 5K. First aid station is also available at the finish line area.
1/2 Marathon Start - 7:30A.M.
Please line up at the starting line no later than 7:15AM
5K Start Time - 8:00 A.M.
Please line up at the starting line no later than 7:45AM
Registration will be available online through Saturday, February 12 @ 11:59PM
Registration will be available on-site Saturday from 4:00PM - 7:00PM in the courtyard just next to the Ranger Station.
Same-day registration starts at 5:30AM and ends firmly by 7:45AM
Elite Invitational registration is sponsored by Aztlan Athletics. All athletes must be cleared by the
event director, Jose Luis Zavala, (Jose@AztlanAthletics.org) in order to satisfy requirements.
Runners are encouraged to begin lining up for the half marathon no later than 7:20AM. The race will start on time at 7:30AM. The 5K race will begin promptly at 8:00AM.
Seed yourself according to your expected race pace. The faster runners should be positioned at the front of the start chute, while slower runners/walkers/strollers start on the back. The goal is to have the start flow nicely and all cooperate with the start being safe.
Run GPR Finish Line is located near the Pony Ride trail just south-east on Crystal Springs Road, behind the Ranger Station, where the main parking for all the participants is located.
The half marathon is open to all levels of ability - yes, that's right! Take your time and enjoy the trek of this historic route. Please review the Elite runner participation section on the website. Elite athletes have to be approved by the event director, Jose Luis Zavala. Prize money sponsored by Aztlan Athletics. Award money will be mailed to all confirmed athletes once completed W-9 forms are provided.
Plenty of parking will be located off of Crystal Springs Road. Over 350 parking slots. There will be parking behind the ranger station, across the ranger station near the merry-go-round area, and additional parking just north of the Pony Ride area.
Follow RunGPR parking signage at both entrances from Crystal Springs Road.
Allow plenty of time for picking up your packets at registration. Races will start on time.
Sale and/or transfer of race entries/ bibs is prohibited. All registration fees and ancillary purchases are nonrefundable. All Participants are required to show a photo ID.

All Elite athletes competing for prize money MUST be registered prior to the day of GPR and cleared by the event director. No same day registration. To receive award money, winners must provide a completed W-9 form.
